PMS Sixth Graders Field Trip to Trace State Park

(10/28): Sixth graders traded their classroom for the great outdoors during a science field trip to Trace State Park! Students met with the park manager Josh Massey, 4-H Extension agent Steven Tucker, MSWF Game Warden Zack Bagwell, biologist from the Museum of Natural Science Deborah Wise, and Mississippi Forestry Commission outreach officer Mike Crabb to explore life science in the environment.
Each presenter introduced students to their profession and explained how their work connects to the natural world. Students discovered the variety of careers involved in studying living things, caring for forests, protecting wildlife, and managing outdoor spaces. The trip connected classroom learning to real-world jobs and helped students see how science plays a role in the world around them. A big thank-you to all our presenters for sharing their time, knowledge, and enthusiasm with our sixth graders!
