(12/12): As we approach the holiday season, I am excited to share a how our students chose to spread joy and make a difference in the lives of others. 6th grade gifted hosted a toy drive to collect toys for LeBonheur Children's Hospital. The hospital's Toy Wall has become a symbol of comfort and joy for children who enter its doors feeling nervous or facing challenging times. Students' generous donations will contribute to creating a positive and uplifting environment for those young patients.
This small gesture not only reinforces the spirit of giving during the holiday season, but also teaches our students the importance of compassion and empathy. Students came together to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children who could use a little extra cheer this holiday season.

(12/12): Ms. Swain’s and Mrs. Whitworth’s science students turned into invasive species masterminds last week, playing a game that made ecologies go "Oh no, not you again!" They strategized, pondered the art of environmental mischief, and left us wondering if we should check our local ecosystems for any unexpected guests. Kudos to these eco-villains in training!
We're proud of their engagement and look forward to more hands-on learning experiences.

(12/8): These students received a positive praise from a teacher this week. They displayed noteworthy character traits while at school. Congrats to these Warriors of Distinction.

(12/5): The first semester is coming to an end. This year has went by so fast. The next few weeks will be filled with important events at PMS.

(11/30): Mrs. Baldwin and Mrs. Koon's classes enjoyed practicing and learning about yoga for athletes.

(11/30): These students were observed in the classrooms or hallway demonstrating praiseworthy characteristics this week. Congrats to these Warriors of Distinction!

(11/30): Sixth grade students participated in reading 400 minutes for the month of November and received a coupon for a free pizza certificate for Pizza Hut. This is a promotion through the BookIt program. Way to go Reading Warriors!

(11/30): Congratulations to Mr. Andy Topp for being selected as the Nutrition Provider of the Year for Pontotoc Middle School. He does an amazing job keeping the cafeteria clean and assisting our students daily with a smile on his face. Thanks for all you do for our cafeteria.

(11/29): The Pontotoc Middle School Spelling Bee was exciting for the participants. Congrats to Chloe Lyon for being the Spelling Bee Champion and Zaavan Nesbit for finishing second place. Many of our students spelled difficult words. Congrats to each of you!
