(10/5): What an honor it is to ave this jewel at PMS! We love and appreciate you, Ms. Frita. We are thankful for all you do for our building.

(10/5): PMS AG and Science teachers, Mrs. Richardson, Mrs. Brumley, and Mrs. Whitworth joined other Ag and Science teachers (including a few more from our district) at MSU in Starkville for the ACRE 2.0 Poultry Science, Food Science, Social Emotional and Literacy training. This week long training that included dissecting eggs, visiting the chicken houses and the poultry processing plant, performing lab experiments, and learning literacy strategies to bring this information to the classroom. The experience was amazing! Follow up days were scheduled for the Fall 2023, and Spring 2024. During the Fall Follow-up, trainees experienced the art of Food Science - Meat Chemistry - Farm to Fork. Through learning the anatomy of cattle and goats, the trainees gained a better understanding of why meat is cooked in specific ways. To enhance this learning experience, trainees were grouped and given 25 pounds of pork to cut and grind into sausage. They seasoned with several different ingredients, designed a company name and logo, created a label including the ingredients, and presented to the other groups. The training was packed full of useful and engaging activities to bring back to PMS!

(10/4): During an architecture unit, Mrs. Caldwell's students are using popcorn to estimate the size of different elements of a house.

(10/4): Mr. Bramlett's math class was rotating centers to practice their math skills. Students were engaged while having a little fun in math class.

(10/3): Getting practice in with a different teacher today. Mrs. Wooley's math class is following along with a virtual teacher to learn about division. Students were able to work at their own pace and watch the video to practice as much as they needed. Mrs. Wooley monitored the students to check for knowledge of the skill. Students seemed to enjoy learning division with this new technology.

(10/2): Mrs Ross’ ELA students analyzed text and answered benchmark type questions and then played race to the finish to review for the upcoming benchmark exam. Look at the excitement on their faces when they won!

(9/29): Students at PMS request your help with the online fundraiser. Students have received packets with information. Students will be rewarded with prizes throughout the sale.

(9/28): Have you ever wondered what's beneath the surface of those mysterious mushrooms that pop up in the forest or your backyard? Well, wonder no more, because the students in Ms. Swain's and Mrs. Whitworth’s classes had fun diving in and dissecting mushrooms today as part of our Fungi lessons.

(9/28): After Mrs. Caldwell's students studied the events of September 11, they created a remembrance puzzle to hang in the hall. The colored the pieces and placed them to fit together.

(9/28): Mr. Anderson's students are reviewing skills for upcoming ELA benchmarks.
