(10/13): The Scholastic Book Fair is coming soon to the Pontotoc Middle School. Students will find new books, favorite authors, and so much more the week of the book fair. The book fair will be October 31 - November 4, in the media center. Family Night will be Tuesday, Nov. 1 from 4 - 6 pm.

(10/21): This week Mrs. Wade’s class traveled to seven different countries while using context clues to understand the meaning of unknown words. Students watched videos to gain background knowledge about each country and worked in groups to “tour” each country. Students collected a token at each stop to place in their passports. Each student had so much fun learning about other countries and learning the meaning of new words!

(10/20): PMS students participated in the state wide earthquake drill. The students learned to "Drop, Cover, and Hold On!" if there was an earthquake.

(10/13): Pontotoc Middle School will celebrate Red Ribbon Week soon. This year's drug theme is “Celebrate Life, Live Drug Free.” We will celebrate learning the dangers of drugs and alcohol during the week of October 24-28. Some activities that students will participate in will be decorating teachers' doors, planting flowers, and speaking on the intercom.

(10/18): Students in Mr. Strickland's choir class are hard at work decorating for the Disney Villains show. The Villains show will be on October 28, at 7 pm in PJHS auditorium.

(10/14): These students showed positive characteristics in class this week. We are proud of you, Warriors of Distinction.

(10/13): The Annual Family Campfire Night will be on Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 4 - 6 pm in the garden. The families can visit the book fair while they are sipping on hot cocoa, listening to spooky music and stories, and playing outdoor games. We invite all students and families to attend this campfire night.

(10/13): Nothing is better than southern turnip greens and pepper sauce! Well, at least that's what Mrs. Whitworth thinks. Soon our 6th Grade Agriculture classes will find out, as well. Some say they like turnip greens, while others have never tasted them. Most say they have never used pepper sauce. Agriculture in the 6th grade is so important. These students are learning how to grow their own food and save their seeds from the produce they grow. This is a great way for students to learn how to be self-sufficient, save money, and go green...TURNIP GREEN!

(10/5): The time is quickly approaching for the Pontotoc City School Choir's first show of the year. This year for Halloween, we have decided to go with a theme based around some of the most popular Disney Villains of all time. Come on out on October 28th at 7:00 P.M. to witness some awesome music sung by some of your former and current students. If you are a fan of Disney, you truly do not want to miss this fun concert. If you have ever wondered what certain Disney Villains would sing or what it would be like to see them run the night, you'll be in for a treat. To make things more fun, we are inviting our audience to come dressed in costumes this year. This isn't mandatory, but it is Halloween! We would love it if you would join us as we will also be dressed as our favorite Disney Villains.
