Gift of Giving at Pontotoc Middle

(12/7): Please continue to support our "Gift of Giving" by sending personal care/beauty aid items for the residents at our local nursing homes. The deadline for this community service project is December 19.

Personal Care Drive for Elderly

(11/16): November and December are known as months of kindness and giving. To show our acts of kindness, we are hosting a personal care/beauty aid drive at your child’s school to support the residents at our local nursing homes. Items can include shampoo, soap, lotion, deodorant, and chapstick. Large print crossword puzzles and word find books can also be donated. It starts today and will last for 4 weeks. All items will be taken to our local nursing homes before Christmas break. We would love for all of our students to participate and learn the importance of giving to others.
We will have a friendly competition between the fifth and sixth grade classes. The grade level that donates the most items will receive an extra break time.
The personal care item drive will end on December 19. Thanks in advance for your help. For questions or other information please contact Betsy Ritchie at 489-6056.

2022-2023 The Big Chief Yearbook order forms

(11/11): It is yearbook order time again! Quantities are limited, so please place your order before December 22, 2022. Extra yearbooks are not guaranteed. The Big Chief (Grades 5-8) costs $40.00. The Little Warrior (Grades k-4) also costs $40.00. Forms may be picked up on the shelf by the office. You may also order online at www.yearbookforever.com. Any yearbook ordered after Dec. 22 will cost $45.00.

All of our students looked amazing at this year's pageant. Congrats to the winners!

"Planksgiving" Challenge in PE

(11/9): Students in one of Mrs. Koon's PE class are participating in the "Planksgiving" Challenge. Each day they add five seconds to their planks. The students are enjoying getting stronger and learning what muscles are involved in this exercise. They do two sets every Monday and Friday to make up for the weekend. Way to get stronger, Warrirors!

Positive Praise Students

(11/4): These fifth and sixth graders were selected as students for positive praise this week. They demonstrated quality traits of character. Thank you for being Warriors of Distinction at Pontotoc Middle School!

Book Fair Family Night was a Blast Around the Campfire

(11/3): The annual Campfire Family Night was a success as it brought the community together at our school. Teachers, parents, and students enjoyed roasting marshmallows for s'mores, hot cocoa, science experiments, and playing games while also shopping at the fall book fair. Thank you to all who came and supported our students with this fall event.

Our Body Works Together for the Good!

(11/3): Mrs. Whitworth and Mrs. Swain’s 6th grade Science classes discovered how all of our body systems work together...especially when they took their pulse after Mrs. Whitworth chased them around the room, or when it was easier the way like Lori did it and ran in place!
