Breathing Life Into Science!
(12/6): Our air-mazing sixth grade scientists created breath-taking models of the respiratory system to understand how our lungs work—and let me tell you, their work was truly lungsational!
Using balloons, straws, and a little science magic, students crafted working models of lungs that show how we inhale (yay oxygen!) and exhale (bye-bye carbon dioxide!). There were some hiccups (pun intended!) along the way, but that’s how science works: trial, error, and discovery.
Ask your student to explain their model—they might just blow you away with their knowledge about diaphragms and bronchi.
