(8/7): Who says homeroom has to be boring? Our science homeroom students are putting their brains to work with STEM kits, educational games, and puzzles—because a little problem-solving (and friendly competition!) is a great way to start the day!

(8/7): Mrs. Whitworth's 6th grade science classes kicked off the year by tossing around more than just a ball—we tossed around names, laughs, and a few questionable catches! Our “Pass the Ball” name game had teachers and students learning names and breaking the ice one pass at a time.

(8/7): Ms. Swain’s classes kicked things off with some fun team-building games! One favorite was the Helium Stick Challenge. The goal sounded simple: work together to lower the stick to the ground. Easy, right? Not quite!  No matter how hard they tried to make it go down, that silly stick had other plans and kept floating up! Teamwork, laughter, and a little bit of confusion made this challenge one to remember!

(8/6): PMS choir is already singing and practicing for performances. The classes have jumped from 16 students last year to almost 30 5th/6th grade students. The current Middle School Choir is bigger than the entire 5th-12th grade choir program last year.

(8/6): Students in Mrs. Scott's fifth grade ELA class got to know each other by "Finding Someone Who" matched fun descriptions. Students had fun using descriptive vocabulary and learning new things about their classmates!

(4/22): Pontotoc Middle School students got to participate in the PCSD Poetry Celebration today at Toyota MS. The students enjoyed Chick-Fil-A, shared their poems aloud, and got to tour the Toyota plant. The students had a wonderful day! Congratulations!

Pontotoc City School District will be remain closed Friday, January 30 due to power outages and other issues from inclement weather.

(2/14): PMS will have a GLOW IN THE DARK DANCE on March 21, from 3:30 - 5:00. Tickets will be $10 and will be sold February 26 - March 8. More details will come later.

Pontotoc City School District will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, 2024. The closure is due to the continued dangerous weather conditions. This closure is implemented for the safety of all students and staff.

(9/13): The PCSD librarians attended the LAMP workshop this week. Kellie McIntyre, author of The Passport Project, spoke of her memoir. Elizabeth Simmons informed librarians of the MAGNOLIA database updates from MDE.
