(9/27): Our 6th grade agriculture class is bringing the heat—literally! Last year’s ag students planted jalapeño peppers, and this year’s crew took it up a notch by dehydrating and grinding them into seasoning powder. The grand total? One fiery seasoning bottle, ready to kick up some recipes all year long!

But that’s not all—they also dehydrated leftover cilantro from their pico de gallo project, yielding a whopping half bottle of cilantro seasoning. Watch out, cafeteria! These kids are turning up the flavor in a big way! 🌶️🌿

(9/26); Students in Mrs. Wilbanks's EL classes have been researching famous Hispanic Americans for Hispanic Heritage Month, which is September 15th- October 15th.

(9/26): PMS sixth grade students learned about the Constitution and the importance of our country's history this week. Mrs. Martha and Mrs. Nancy provided our students with valuable information about our Constitution.

(9/26): (Change of Date) PMS students in choir present "A Fall Showcase" on October 22 at 7 pm in the PJH Auditorium. There is no entry fee to this event.

(9/25): PMS students and teachers will participate in PHS Homecoming Festivities during the week of October 7-10. "Go for the Gold, USA!"

(9/25): PMS students will have Fall Break on October 11-16, 2024.

(9/25): School day pictures at Pontotoc Middle School will be Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Wear your best smile for the camera as you make memories of this school year.

(9/20): Our school counselor went into 6th grade classes this week and discussed bullying. Students talked about the definition of bullying, types of bullying, and ways to stop it. After group discussions, students tossed a bullying thumball around the classroom and read and responded to prompts about ways to identify and stop bullying. Some of the discussions included gossiping, cyberbullying, and exclusion. This was a fun way to encourage student reflections and allow for self-growth.
