(8/22): Pontotoc Middle School students showed their Warrior pride by cheering on the football team in bold black and gold. With faces painted and energy high, they came together to support the Warriors under the Friday night lights.

(8/20): Mrs. Brumley’s fifth grade science students explored properties of matter using household items. They had lots of fun discovering about solubility texture, color, particle size, odor, etc..

(8/22): PMS Counselor, Mrs. Betsy Ritchie, greets our students with a smile. She has a deep passion and concern for our students. She visits the classrooms throughout the year to discuss goals, mental health, and conflict resolution among peers.

(8/19): Students in Mrs. Herdahl's fifth grade ELA class are reading informational texts about astrobiologists. Secondary photo of two girls playing rock-paper-scissors for the opportunity to read next. They love to be chosen and even get competitive!

(8/18): PMS students in Mrs. Emison's fifth grade math class redeemed their coupons for great prizes last week. Students who had two or less codes for the week got a reward of their choice. They got to choose from chew gum in class, work anywhere in class, sit in rolly chair, or more; but the favorites were lunch with a bud, sit where you want, and a new lead pencil. Thanks Mrs. Emison for encouraging positive behavior during the first week of school!

(8/15): PMS teachers recognized several students being courteous and good citizens at school. Our Positive Praise students received a certificate and snack from Mrs. Ritchie. Thanks for being great Warriors!

(8/14): Our 6th grade Agriculture students took part in an exciting milestone this week — moving 3-month-old chickens from their separate coop into the main pen with the older hens! While this was their first time working with these chickens, last year’s Ag students were the ones who hatched and raised them from eggs.
As the new flock members joined the older hens, students observed flock behavior up close and watched the “pecking order” begin to take shape — a fascinating real-life lesson in animal instincts and social structure. It was a fun and educational day filled with feathers, curiosity, and lots of clucking!

(8/14): PMS students in Mrs. Koon's health class took a brain break. They worked on teamwork and problem solving by putting together a puzzle. The puzzle pros are hard at work for this jigsaw masterpiece.

(8/13): Today, Chef Wyatt had the opportunity to spend time with the middle school students in their garden program. Using fresh produce they picked themselves, he gave a hands-on demonstration on proper knife skills, how to prepare fresh cilantro, how to make homemade salsa, and how to create vibrant salads using ingredients straight from the garden.
The students were engaged and excited to see how the vegetables they helped grow could be transformed into something delicious. The teacher also enjoyed participating, and it was a fun, educational experience for everyone.
